There are some exciting (and some just quotidian) updates at Cove Acupuncture! Let’s start with exciting:
Introducing Kelly Scott
I’m thrilled to announce that Kelly Scott of Revolt Acupuncture will be seeing patients at Cove Tuesday and Saturday mornings. I met Kelly while volunteering for pop-up, donation-based acupuncture events with Inclusively Well—she’s on their board. Apart from being trained in a number of different styles of acupuncture, Kelly is also an excellent writer, so I’ll let her bio do the talking:
Kelly Scott (she/they) is a nationally licensed acupuncturist and herbalist based in Los Angeles. She has a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from West Chester University and a Master of Traditional East Asian Medicine from Emperor’s College. She is the owner of Revolt Acupuncture and has previously practiced at Six Fishes Acupuncture in Philadelphia, Royal Caribbean International (New Zealand, Australia), Mazzoni Center, and local community acupuncture clinics.
Kelly's work is fueled by the indefatigable spirit of her ancestors and additionally sourced from the seeds of revolution cultivated by luminary queer/trans/BIPOC activists, organizers, and educators. Anchored in themes of social justice and liberation, her ongoing quest is to reveal a new somatic language for healthcare that is notably absent from the current dialogue surrounding folks existing at the margins. Her practice connects patients experiencing pain, emotional dysregulation, disruptive sleep patterns, and ancestral trauma with the innate biological tools of sovereignty necessary to alchemize their health.

Low-Cost Acupuncture at Cove
A great thing about having your own studio is being able to work whenever and however you want. In an ideal world, we’d have universal healthcare that included acupuncture benefits, but until we do, it’s important to expand access to Asian Medicine. I’m therefore excited to announce that we’re now offering low-cost acupuncture at Cove! Currently this will be offered the second Friday of every month. Kelly will also be offering this, but we haven’t worked out the details quite yet, so stay tuned to our Instagrams. These are full acupuncture treatments (not community acupuncture). Suggested payment is $40, but pay whatever you can. If you’re an existing patient that has taken a financial hit or no longer has health insurance that pays for acupuncture, please come in!
New Booking Link
I’ve switched to a new scheduling and electronic health records software with the hope that you’ll have a better user experience. This one is *much* better on mobile and I think will make intake submissions a breeze. I’ve updated the link on my website and Instagram; you can also click here. The transition period has been mostly smooth, with a few stumbles along the way. If you got appointment reminders from both the old and new system, I apologize! That should all be fixed now (please let me know if anything seems awry with the new software).
That’s all for now! I hope everyone is having a great transition into autumn (or LA autumn, anyway). Fall is about letting go—detaching from that which doesn’t nourish you, gathering the things that do, and hunkering down for the stillness of winter. Happy pre-hibernation!
